Five Containers of GI Coils Delivered to Libya to Support Peak Demand in Roofing and Ventilation Production

Five Containers of GI Coils Delivered to Libya to Support Peak Demand in Roofing and Ventilation Production

2025-05-05

Galvanized steel coils are among the most consumed steel products in Libya. They are essential for the production of corrugated sheets, ducting systems, purlins, lightweight structures, and various construction accessories. However, many local distributors complained that materials previously sourced had inconsistent zinc coating, resulting in premature corrosion — especially during the hot, dusty summer season.

To help a major distributor prepare for peak demand, we supplied 5×40HQ containers of Hot Dipped Galvanized Steel Coil (GI) in 0.3–1.5 mm thickness and widths 1000 / 1220 / 1500 mm. Each coil was inspected to ensure uniform zinc layer distribution and strong adhesion, validated through salt-spray corrosion testing.

The customer redistributed the coils to downstream manufacturers for applications including:

  • Corrugated roofing sheet production

  • Ventilation and HVAC ducting

  • Light-steel purlins and structural members

  • Cold-formed sections for storage facilities

Feedback from multiple processors highlighted excellent formability, stable coating adhesion, and zero edge cracking during roll-forming. This batch quickly became one of the distributor’s best-selling inventory items, with most of the stock sold within a short period.
